This role ensures Noggin's products and services meet high quality standards by developing and executing comprehensive test plans. Key responsibilities include validating software releases, conducting functional, automation, and non-functional testing, and applying Agile methodologies. The role focuses on building automation test suites and identifying SDLC bottlenecks to maintain reliability and excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Code Quality and Agile Practices: Support Engineering teams in writing testable code and applying agile testing methodologies, ensuring high-quality code and effective sprint planning.
Test Automation and Non-Functional Testing: Enhance test automation frameworks and practices, including UI and API automation in BDD format, and integrate non-functional testing (performance/security) into the regression suite.
Test Strategy and Execution: Develop and execute test strategies in collaboration with Engineering and Product stakeholders, providing feedback and ensuring deliverables meet quality standards while managing residual risks.
Quality Assurance and Risk Management: Contribute to the Quality Knowledge Base, perform smoke testing, analyze release candidates for risks, and ensure quality outcomes in integrated environments through thorough testing.
Communication and Coordination: Coordinate with Learning & Development, Support teams, and stakeholders to communicate changes, timing, scope, and impacts to products and services.
Education and Qualifications
Essential:
Tertiary degree in software development (or similar) or at least 3 years commercial (paid) software engineering experience
Experience and Skills
Essential:
A minimum of 3+ years direct experience as a Quality Engineer for major application integration and/or major application product release
Extensive experience with testing cloud/web-based software applications using Agile Test Methodologies
Extensive experience with Automation Testing with various Javascript based testing frameworks
Strong experience with Non-Functional Testing methodologies (mainly Performance & Security testing)
It will also be beneficial (not mandatory) if you have:
Experience in test automation in a microservice based ecosystem
Experience in test automation in an AWS environment
Personal Attributes
Strong knowledge of system testing best practices and methodologies.
Ability to understand the principles behind the Agile approach to software development.
Ability to understand and create test plans from specifications or verbal communications.
Ability to explain at a basic level on how changing conditions, current events, and historical contexts influence the quality of a release and the product.
Ability to identify Functional & Non-Functional risks during the earlier phases of release process
Ability to build/execute/validate/report Automation Tests (both UI & API) across various browsers & Mobile Devices
Ability to build/execute/validate/report Performance Tests (both UI & API)
Ability to research new tools, technologies & testing process
