Great opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join our Payment Services Platform and be part of a multi skilled feature team, collaborating to ensure quality & customer requirements are met when developing products. You’ll define the test coverage and scope based on acceptance criteria to undertake robust testing (Automation & Exploratory), and mentor/coach other colleagues on LBG Quality standards. This is an exciting opportunity to help us create a fully in-house developed gateway to SWIFT Scheme to evolve into a solution fit for the long term future of Payments.

About us…

Like the modern Britain we serve, we’re evolving. Investing billions in our people, data and tech to transform the way we meet the ever-changing needs of our 26 million customers. We’re growing with purpose. Join us on our journey and you will too…

What you’ll do…

  • Develop and maintain automated test suites using Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, and BDD frameworks (e.g., Cucumber).

  • Collaborate with POs (Product Owners), Dev teams, and BA (Business Analysts) to define AC (Acceptance Criteria) and test scenarios.

  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) for Continuous Testing and Shift-Left QA.

  • Perform Functional Testing, Regression Testing, NFT (Non-Functional Testing), Performance Testing (using JMeter), and Security Testing across microservices.

  • Utilize GCP (Google Cloud Platform) services such as Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, and Pub/Sub for test environment provisioning, monitoring, and reporting.

  • Develop and execute test automation frameworks for API Testing (e.g., Postman, RestAssured), UI Testing, and KIOSK Automation.

  • Drive Test Strategy, Quality Metrics (e.g., Code Coverage, Defect Density), and Agile QA practices across Scrum Teams.

  • Troubleshoot test failures, perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and provide actionable feedback to DevOps and development teams.

  • Advocate for Test Automation Best Practices, Shift-Left Testing, and Continuous Quality Improvement.

What you’ll need…

  • Strong experience in Test Automation using Selenium WebDriver and/or Playwright.

  • Proficiency in BDD tools like Cucumber, SpecFlow, or Behave.

  • Solid understanding of JavaScript, TypeScript, or Java for test scripting.

  • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., IDP, Harness, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).

  • Familiarity with GCP services (Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub).

  • Knowledge of containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Experience with Test Reporting Tools and Dashboards (e.g., Allure, ExtentReports).

  • Exposure to API Testing frameworks (Postman, RestAssured).

  • Understanding of Cloud Security and Compliance Testing (e.g., SWIFT CSP).

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Test Environment Automation (e.g., Terraform).

It would be great if you also had any of the following…

  • Exposure to Performance Testing Tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).

  • Experience with NFT (Non-Functional Testing) for Resilience, Scalability, and High Availability (HA).

  • Familiarity with Agile Methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).

  • Knowledge of Monitoring Tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Dynatrace).

  • Knowledge of Banking/Payments Domain and Regulatory Compliance (e.g., SWIFT CSP).

  • Experience with AI-assisted QA tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Testim.io).
