SUMMARY
Executes structured problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing lines. Supports customer and supplier quality activities while leading moderate-complexity quality issues. Drives Bronze-to-Silver level Kaizen events and improves process capability through data-driven analysis, risk mitigation (PFMEA), and standardized work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
A. Manufacturing-Line Analysis
- Perform structured root cause analysis (8D, A3, DMAIC, 5-Why, Ishikawa) on recurring defects and yield losses.
- Support line diagnostics: process mapping, VSM, CTQ identification, PFMEA updates, and control plan maintenance.
- Apply SPC tools (X̄-R, p/u charts), capability analysis (Cpk/Ppk), and MSA/GR&R with guidance from QE3 or senior engineers.
- Monitor process performance and escalate abnormalities.
B. Acute & Chronic Issue Support
- Support containment actions and verification for internal/external escapes.
- Assist in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Execute assigned improvement projects targeting top defect contributors.
C. Quality Planning & Risk Management
- Maintain APQP documentation: PFMEA, Control Plan, process flow, MSA records, and CAI/FAI reports
- Support compliance with AS9100/ASQR requirements, including FOD control, traceability, special-process qualification, and configuration management.
- Assist in WI updates and ensure adherence on the shop floor.
- Participate in audits (internal, customer, LPA).
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma (D3) or Bachelor (S1) in mechanical engineering or related field.
- At least 5 years in manufacturing or quality engineering.
- Basic understanding of AS9100, ASQR (customer-specific), CAI/FAI, configuration & traceability controls.
- Familiarity with APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, GR&R/MSA, GD&T , A3, DMAIC, VSM, standard work, visual management and manufacturing processes.
- Working knowledge of quality tools (8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa).
- Working knowledge digital & analytics tools (Minitab or equivalent, Excel/Power BI, data querying and dashboarding)
- Lean Six Sigma Yellow/Green Belt (preferred).
