Quality Documentation Analyst, HSE

Houston, TX Full time

Job Type:

Regular

Plains is an industry-leading transportation and midstream provider specializing in transportation, storage, processing and marketing solutions for crude oil. We own an extensive network of pipeline transportation, terminalling, storage and gathering assets in key oil producing basins and transportation corridors and at major market hubs in the United States and Canada. The company is headquartered in Houston, Texas.

We’re on the lookout for passionate self‑starters who thrive in fast‑moving, collaborative, and innovative environments.

If you’re organized, curious, and ready to build a career in the energy sector, you’ll fit right in at Plains. As a Quality Documentation Analyst, you’ll support our Records Management team by keeping project and operational documentation accurate, complete, and easy to find. You don’t need deep pipeline regulatory experience on day one; you’ll learn the technical requirements and industry standards on the job.

You’ll work closely with field and office teams, help maintain our records systems, and make sure the documentation that supports safe operations is in great shape.

You’ll also be eligible for our full benefits package, including Medical / Dental / Vision coverage and paid time off.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with field personnel to ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted on time.
  • Organize and store digital and hard‑copy records for capital projects, integrity work, and operations.
  • Provide updated forms and process information to project managers and field teams.
  • Review and assign capital project documentation based on project scope and location.
  • Maintain contact and assignment databases for Construction Managers and Document Controllers.
  • Support internal, state, and federal audits by locating and providing required records.
  • Participate in or help facilitate Forms and Dig training for field staff.
  • Input and maintain data for integrity, operations, and maintenance activities.
  • Generate routine reports and contribute to team projects.
  • Travel occasionally to support essential job functions.

What You Bring

You’re a great match if you bring the basics and the drive to learn:

  • An Associate Degree in Business, Accounting, Science, or a related field OR at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Comfort learning technical terms and reviewing maps or drawings.
  • Strong organization skills and experience working with spreadsheets and document‑tracking tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Clear, professional communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while staying connected to a team.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Ability to meet standard employment requirements: background check, drug & alcohol compliance, valid driver’s license, and U.S. work authorization (no visa sponsorship available). #Plains
