Our Merchandise team works with supplier partners and store teams on category ranging, buying, pricing and promotions so we can get the right products on the right shelves at the right time for our customers.
Te Tūranga – About the role
We’re looking for a Quality Controller to join our Produce team and help us win in Fresh. Based in our Fresh DC (Palmerston North), you’ll play a key role in ensuring produce meets our high standards before it reaches stores. You’ll work closely with suppliers, growers, and internal teams to maintain quality and resolve issues quickly.
- Carry out quality checks including temperature, brix and visual inspections
- Maintain accurate records and dashboards to track quality performance
- Liaise with suppliers and growers to address quality issues at source
- Complete rejection notices and provide clear communication to stakeholders
- Support continuous improvement of quality processes and specifications
- Work 10-15 hours a week OR 30 hours a week.

You’re detail-oriented, organised and passionate about perfect produce. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and know how to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
- Experience in the produce industry or FMCG environment
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills – both written and verbal
- Understanding of food safety and health and safety best practice
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable following procedures
