Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Quality Control Technician – Level 2 or Level 3 to join our team in Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral, FL. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.

The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for implementation of the quality system for SLS production by monitoring and recording results from processes and procedures within the manufacturing process.

This position will work a 4/10 schedule, with every Friday off.

As demand grows, we can anticipate scheduled Friday workdays, the possibility of rotating shifts, and the need for overtime.

In this job, you will:

  • Performs a variety of mechanical and electrical inspections on flight hardware, including, torquing of fasteners, safety wire, TPS (Thermal Protection System) application, Alodine, primer and topcoat application, hole measurements, tube and hose fabrication, cable harness connector crimping, soldering, cable harness testing.

  • Generates non-conformance reports for defective or malfunctioning units or systems as required. 

  • Works from blueprints, diagrams, dial indicators, preset micrometers, scales, fixtures, customer specifications, drawing or inspection instructions and checklists.

  • Performs analysis on finished products from manufacturing, to ensure quality standards and compliance to customer and regulatory requirements, and tolerance specifications for the chemical or physical property.

  • Performs a variety of qualitative tests or qualitative assays on samples, and to aid in maintenance and certification of test instruments and apparatuses to ensure compliance.

  • Reviews production records for conformance to procedures. Conducts non-conformance tests of manufactured, packaged or tested product.

  • Other duties as assigned

  

This position can be filled at either the Level 2 or Level 3.

Basic Qualifications for Level 2:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience.   

  • No clearance required to start

  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time, walk up and down stairs, climb up ladders, reach into tight spaces, and lift up to 49 pounds. 

  • Experience with Microsoft Office

  • Familiar with reading and interpreting blueprints.

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.   

  • No clearance required to start

  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time, walk up and down stairs, climb up ladders, reach into tight spaces, and lift up to 49 pounds. 

  • Experience with Microsoft Office

  • Familiar with reading and interpreting blueprints.

 Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Associates degree in Science is preferred

Northrop Grumman Total Rewards 

Primary Level Salary Range: $44,400.00 - $74,000.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $52,700.00 - $87,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
