We are seeking a Quality Auditor based in our Chicago location. The position is for 2nd shift, Monday – Thursday from 2:30pm to 1:00am.

Salary: $22/hour to $24/hour

Job Purpose & Scope

The Quality Auditor will perform all inspections and related operations required to approve or prepare component parts for assembly or other operations by utilizing various established inspection procedures. You will take part in continuous improvement activities and will identify and implement best practices as appropriate within Grid and Metal Ceiling Operations. This position is based in Chicago.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Select representative sample parts from purchased lots and component parts received from other plants or outside processing and inspect for conformance to applicable specification and/or print

  • Read prints for dimensional specifications and tolerances

  • Verifies that standards required for inspection are calibrated

  • Identify and set required gauges to accurately and precisely measure dimensional characteristics.  May need to improve gauging method or gauge.

  • Perform the specified inspections, complete all forms accurately and neatly, and maintain organized records.  May be required to develop and publish reports and/or metrics on supplier performance

  • Organize work schedule and maintain smooth workflow to meet production need for timely shipment of parts

What you bring:

  • 2-3 years of experience working in manufacturing work environment.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Able to influence product flow changes.

  • Be knowledgeable of manufacturing process flow, product routings and bill of materials (BOM)

  • Knowledgeable in the use of precision measurement equipment, detection methods including coil coating inspection, powder coating inspection, optical comparators, paint color matching, hardness testers, etc. Comprehend function of part being inspected and be able to make decisions on quality and inspection procedure(s) to use

  • Previous experience using computers and computer software to collect, analyze and communicate data and results (i.e. MS Office Suite, SAP, CompliantPro QSM, SPC, etc.)
