We are presently seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our AS9100 and ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS). The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, analytical skills, and an unwavering commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a key member of the program team to ensure product and service conformity through effective collaboration and adherence to established processes and procedures.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by collecting, analyzing, and utilizing performance metrics at program, divisional, and company levels.
- Act as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including customer representatives and the National Defence Quality Assurance Representative (NDQAR).
- Promote and enhance the Quality Management System (QMS) to maintain competitiveness and compliance.
- Evaluate product test reports and ensure adherence to quality standards as required.
- Oversee internal auditing, corrective actions, and preventive processes to address and eliminate quality issues.
- Manage quality system documentation and support the deployment of appropriate tools for system optimization.
- Compete training and professional development to align with divisional and functional needs.
- Monitor and manage quality-related activities within budgetary guidelines.
Requirements:
- University bachelor degree in a related field, post-secondary diploma, or the equivalent in training and experience.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience as a Quality Assurance professional and/or QMS auditor accreditation by ASQ/RAB with proven experience.
- Proven experience driving successful performance of major subcontractors, suppliers and/or Inter Organization Transfers (IOTs).
- Experience with defence systems throughout the product life cycle, including design, production, installation, integration, test and sustainment is preferred.
- Proficiency in quality management tools such as Apollo Root Cause Analysis, IQM, Minitab, and ETQ is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills and a passion for driving continuous improvement.
- Bilingual (French & English) is highly desirable.
- Demonstrative ability to lead change initiatives and mentor others effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, leadership and communication skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of ISO 9001:2008 and AS-9100/AS-9110 standards.
- Knowledge of military specifications and standards an asset.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools for budget and work tracking.
The successful candidate will be required to complete a criminal background check and obtain/maintain a Government of Canada security clearance and any applicable clearances with respect to the handling and transfer of controlled goods.
This position is eligible for consideration of a hybrid work arrangement with set onsite days.
