Job Description
Quality Assurance Manager
Teledyne Battery Products currently has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Assurance Manager to join our Team. The Quality Manager is responsible for the quality management systems to ensure products and processes meet internal standards, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements. This role leads quality initiatives, drives continuous improvement, and partners cross‑functionally to support operational excellence. This is a hands-on management role and will require conducting lab testing, receiving and in-process inspection, and root cause analyses.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but not limited to:
- Maintain the quality management system (QMS) alignment with AS9100.
- Manage and oversee the Material Review Board (MRB) processes and administration.
- Lead internal and external audits, manage corrective and preventive actions, and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.
- Quality – Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; looks for ways to improve and promote quality; applies feedback to improve performance; monitors own work to ensure quality.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using quality tools such as root cause analysis, SPC, FMEA, and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the quality team while promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Establish supplier quality standards, conduct supplier audits, and manage supplier corrective actions as needed.
- Investigate customer complaints, lead root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Review technical publications, articles, regulatory standards, industry trends and abstracts to stay abreast of issues in the quality control industry.
- Work to avoid erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results that may cause scrap, rework, use of excessive overtime, and/or delays in schedules.
- Adaptability – Adapts to changes in the work environment; able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
- Interact with subordinate supervisors, outside customers, and functional peer groups at various management levels. Interaction normally requires the ability to inspire and gain cooperation from others, to conduct or aid others in conducting presentations or to exchange information.
- Safety and Security – Observes safety and security procedures including using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
- Daily availability includes evenings and weekends when necessary to reach goals and deadlines.
- Professionalism – Reacts well under pressure; treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position.
- Additional duties as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in a related position and 5+ years of directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience.
- DMIR certified or willing to become DMIR certified
- Aerospace industry experience.
- Experience working in a chemistry lab.
- ISO audit experience.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Demonstrated knowledge of ISO and AS9100 required.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with excellent time and project management skills in a fast-paced environment to adhere to timelines.
- Ability to establish goals and objectives to complete projects while monitoring specific objectives assigned to individual department.
- Up to 10% of Domestic travel with some notice will be required.
Preferred
- AS9100 Audit experience strongly preferred
- Experience using ICP test equipment strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/6 Sigma/Kaizen
Salary Range:
$96,600.00-$128,800.000

Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, local regulations (such as minimum wage), education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
