The Safety Item Manager (SIM) is in charge of a Safety Related Item (SARI) from creation till closure.
He/she is responsible:
- To launch and ensure proper deployment and resolution of one or several investigation through 9S methodology (PPS/8D)
- Building or facilitating the Multi-Functional Team (MFT) with the various member/organisations involved in the issue
- Ensuring that immediate actions are launched: Curative/remedial (at detection) & containment to avoid delivering defects to the customer
- Identifying the Root Cause (RC) of the issue by using Root Cause analysis methodology
- Defining and ensuring implementation of selected Corrective Actions (CA)
- Summarize the full investigation result (especially in case of multiple PPS/8D/9S)
- Presenting the SARI in front Production Panel authority for validation
- Recording and securing proper consistency of all the investigation in CAPRI tool
