The Opportunity

The Quality Advisor is responsible for ensuring a high degree of quality is achieved on all capital projects within U.S. Gas Pipeline Projects. The Quality Advisor will work with Project Management, Construction Management, Supply Chain, Engineering and functional teams to ensure quality related deliverables and requirements are executed in accordance with TC Energy’s Operational Management System (TOMS), Quality Management Program (QMP), and the Project Delivery Standard (PDS).

What you'll do

  • Support the development and delivery of quality related training including quality orientations, procedure implementation and project specific quality training

  • Participate in bid reviews; review Contractor QMS documents, participate and coordinate review of Contractor’s quality assurance procedures/plans, inspection, hold points and test plans (ITPs)

  • Partner with Lead Project Coordinator to develop assessment schedule and perform project and construction related self-assessments

  • Track and analyze material defects, re-welds, & scraps for statistical trends (e.g. bias, normal distribution plots, etc.) at the project and program level and report to leadership

  • Coordinate correspondence from stakeholders and document lessons learned reports, opportunities for improvement (OFIs), procedures and process revision recommendations

  • Initiate, investigate, verify and close Non-Conformances (NCR)

  • Track, analyze and report NCR data for statistical trends (e.g. bias, normal distribution plots, etc.)

  • Lead Root Cause Analysis investigation and assist with implementation of corrective actions

  • Participate in PDS Assurance reviews as a Project Quality Subject Matter Expert

  • Participate in Contractor’s audit and make recommendations regarding quality related issues/concerns at the program or portfolio level

  • Participate in the bid review process to include qualification and re-evaluation of suppliers and Contractors

  • Ensures proper document control and records management methodologies are executed at the Project and Program level

  • Analyze and identify process improvements relative to the capital program, communicate and follow-through on subsequent improvements

 

 Minimum Qualifications 

  • Degree/technical degree preferred

  • 8+ years of related experience

  • Experience interacting with and presenting to Senior Leadership

  • Business acumen and presentation skills

  • Quantitative and analytical skills

  • Experience with quality systems and associated tools

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results and achieve goals

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw well-supported conclusions

  • Ability to communicate (both written and verbal) with all levels of the organization effectively in a clear and concise manner

  • Focus on internal and external customers

  • Ability to analyze and communicate performance data

  • Demonstrated ability to manage varied tasks, adapt to changing tasks and identify appropriate prioritization for timely execution

  • Demonstrate drive and commitment to achieve business results

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)

  • Ability to work independently and on teams; strong interpersonal and collaboration skills

  • Requires an aptitude for attention to detail, accuracy, precision and logic

 Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience in capital projects (specifically oil and gas) with emphasis on engineering, procurement and construction preferred

  • Formal assessment or audit experience preferred

  • Lead auditor certification (internal/external) preferred
