The QMS Compliance Harmonization Specialist is responsible for leading efforts to streamline, harmonize, and standardize documentation related to core quality processes across the organization. This role supports enterprise-wide consistency, enhances AS9100 compliance, and reduces documentation redundancies that may hinder operational efficiency.
Working closely with the 1st Party Internal Audit team, Data & Analytics, and Corrective Action focal points, the Specialist will identify trends, overlaps, and gaps within the Quality Management System (QMS) documentation and lead harmonization initiatives to simplify and align procedures, work instructions, and forms with business and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Documentation Harmonization & Standardization
- Evaluate existing QMS documentation across business units to identify redundancy, inefficiency, and misalignment with core quality processes.
- Lead initiatives to consolidate and standardize procedures, work instructions, templates, and forms while ensuring alignment with AS9100, customer, and regulatory requirements.
- Define and maintain a harmonized documentation structure and control framework that ensures enterprise-wide consistency.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with 1st Party Internal Audit teams to identify documentation issues and systemic trends observed during audits.
- Work with Corrective Action teams to analyze findings and implement preventive changes through standardized documentation.
- Partner with Data & Analytics teams to assess documentation usage, compliance trends, and opportunities for simplification.
- QMS Improvement & Compliance
- Ensure all harmonization efforts support and maintain compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, FAA, DoD, and other applicable standards and regulations.
- Participate in QMS reviews, internal audits, and process improvement initiatives to ensure documentation meets compliance and business needs.
- Coordinate change control activities for harmonized documentation, including stakeholder engagement, approval workflows, and version control.
- Develop and deliver communication plans, training materials, and guidance documents to support the adoption of standardized processes and documentation.
- Maintain and report on harmonization progress, key milestones, and impact metrics (e.g., document count reduction, compliance improvements).
- Support the development of governance models to maintain long-term document consistency and control.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in quality systems, compliance, or documentation management in the aerospace, defense, or regulated manufacturing industry.
- Strong working knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001 or AS9110 and related regulatory requirements.
- Experience with document control systems (e.g., Windchill, SharePoint, MasterControl, ETQ, etc.).
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with emphasis on writing compliance procedures
- Experience facilitating cross-functional teams project implementation.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, Business, or a related technical field.
- Experience in internal auditing and/or corrective action management.
- Proficiency in tools such as Power BI, Excel, and other data analysis platforms.
- Experience in large-scale QMS transformation or documentation harmonization initiatives.

Working Environment & Travel:
- Hybrid or on-site, depending on site requirements.
- Occasional travel may be required (<10%) for site visits, audits, or harmonization workshops.
- Expectation to work beyond current site and support sites within assigned region
