The QMS & Compliance Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving the Quality Management System in compliance with AS9100 and applicable aerospace regulatory and customer requirements. You will coordinate and control the approval, release, revision, storage, and communication of Quality Management System documentation, ensuring compliance with established requirements and review cycles. The role manages document change activities, supports audit readiness, and leads efforts to standardize and improve documentation and quality processes across the business unit.
Working knowledge of advanced quality tools is required, along with the ability to lead cross-functional teams to ensure effective process control, compliance, and operational excellence.
Familiarity with AS9145 (APQP/PPAP) is considered a strong advantage and will be leveraged to support business needs, program execution, and customer requirements.
What You Will Do *
Coordinate and track approval, release, storage, revision, and notification of Quality Management System documentation, including procedures, work instructions, manuals, and forms
Ensure compliance with required 3-year document maintenance and review cycles, including coordination for new, revised, and cancelled documents outside of scheduled reviews
Maintain PH Site documentation and ensure business unit compliance with established requirements
Manage document ballots and communicate upcoming and released Collins and Interiors document revisions to PH Site stakeholders
Evaluate existing QMS documentation to identify redundancy, inefficiency, and misalignment with core quality processes
Lead initiatives to consolidate, harmonize, and standardize procedures, work instructions, templates, and forms across the SBU
Define and maintain a harmonized documentation structure and control framework to ensure consistency across PH Site
Coordinate document change control activities, including stakeholder engagement, approval workflows, and version control
Develop and deliver communication plans, training materials, and guidance to support adoption of standardized processes and new or revised Collins and Interiors requirements
Support in preparation for 1st, 2nd and 3rd party audits
Drive continuous improvement through strong application of root cause and corrective action (RCCA) methodologies
Lead root cause analysis and corrective action using structured problem-solving methodologies
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
What You Will Learn
Qualifications You Must Have *
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field
6+ years experience in Quality Engineering / QMS roles (or equivalent) within an aerospace or highly regulated manufacturing environment
Strong working knowledge of AS9100 / ISO9001 requirements and application
Background knowledge in AS9145 (APQP / PPAP) implementation and execution
In-depth knowledge of core quality tools (PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC, MSA, RCCA, 8D)
Experience leading audits and managing corrective actions
Qualifications We Prefer
Demonstrated experience leading continuous improvement projects and applying Lean Manufacturing principles and tools (CORE/ACE/Six Sigma, QCPC, and RCCA)
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage quality clinics or other projects effectively
Ability to train and coach employees on Quality Tools and the foundational elements of APQP
Experience working with Microsoft Office, SAP ERP
Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization including senior level management
Comfortable working in fast-paced, multi-program environments
