Position Overview:

The Quality Manager is responsible for daily management of product quality and reliability as well as all issues related to EHS.  Liaison with customers, suppliers, and all internal support functions with respect to the management of quality and reliability with the objective of continuous improvement of products and processes.

The QHSE Manager is a critical plant staff level leadership position and will be expected to play a strong role in assisting the Plant Manager in developing and implementing operational strategies and methods to improve plant performance.

Responsibilities QA:

  • Obtain, validate, and communicate quality related metrics
  • Oversees and implements the development of quality plans for meeting major business objectives in quality and ESH
  • Implement standardized Allegion Quality Assurance concepts
  • Develop and implement short-term and long-term corrective action plans to improve product and process quality
  • Coordinates plant quality activities with global (company) quality initiatives.
  • Train and coach employees and suppliers
  • Establishes, communicates, and executes strategic quality plans and objectives
  • Coordination of PPAP activities to completion with Allegion stakeholders / resources
  • Develop/improve EHS and Plant Quality Management System, serve as ISO 9001 Quality Management System representative
  • Manage internal quality audits
  • Demonstrate leadership competencies and functional competencies
  • Represent location in front to Suppliers as well as for External audits on Quality (ISO, UTAC, KBA, SKG, Varefakta, ART etc.)
  • Provide functional leadership of Plant Quality and safety Teams and support Quality for the plant
  • Promote the execution and implementation of the Allegion Quality Strategy, AOP Quality plans and other common activities for GPS
  • Provide leadership for core processes, metrics, tools and activities, including the RMA process, the lifecycle / change management process, COQ methods, job profiles etc
  • Able to work to a single ISO certificate, share best practices and a single Internal audit program
  • Initiate and execute (with cooperation of Plant Manager and Quality team) all CoPQ improvement and right balance of CoPQ vs COQ
  • Lead Quality on New Products Development working closely with Business Line and SQE
  • Drive the GPS Product Compliance Agenda
  • Liaise with Allegion Corporate Quality

Responsibilities EHS

1. The team leaders and department heads advise and assist in determining measures in the field of safety, health and the environment.

2. Promote the company's HSE policy to all employees.

3.Ensuring compliance with EHS legislation and monitoring legal developments.

4. Develop policies and implement prevention programs for identified occupational hazards

5. Assist management in preparing for and participating in meetings on EHS issues

6. Ensuring that EHS constraints and working conditions are taken into account when designing new manufacturing processes and resources

7. Ensure that the RI&E is carried out and followed up

8. Advises and assists the management in defining safety (occupational safety, working conditions and environmental protection); takes care of its implementation, supervision and follow-up

9. Identifies, evaluates and controls all occupational risks: working conditions, personal safety, occupational diseases, environmental protection

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quality, Statistics, or Engineering required
  • 5-10 Years of quality experience working in manufacturing operations
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing various problem-solving skills in a manufacturing operation
  • Engineering and 8D under working knowledge
  • Working knowledge and demonstrated experience of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems, Six Sigma and APQP
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products and statistical software, including Microsoft Dynamics
  • Solid interpersonal skills, mentor, team player and builder
  • Working knowledge of various inspection, measuring, and test equipment. Proficient in MSA
  • Solid understanding of reading technical drawings
  • Must be an innovative thinker who is able to identify and manage risk and can work cross-functionally.
  • Strong communicator
  • Willingness to take operational tasks as part of your daily job
