Job Description

Position Summary:

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a QC Technician to join our hardworking team. Your role will involve several tasks in the Microbiology Quality Control Department to support our efforts in life sciences research and diagnostics.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine laboratory sampling and testing.

  • Complete documentation to company standards.

  • Make sure all work aligns with departmental procedures and cGMP.

  • Meet testing lead times, barring unforeseen circumstances.

  • Communicate optimally and proactively with site colleagues.

  • Implement health and safety procedures for personal and team duties.

  • Undertake additional tasks as the need arises.

  • Apply cGMP in all areas of work and business.

Health & Safety:

  • Understand and follow emergency procedures and safe systems of work.

  • Align with all EH&S requirements.

  • Promote safety behaviours in the working environment.

Experience:

  • Degree in Microbiology or strongly related scientific discipline.

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C or above.

  • Minimum of 2 A-Levels (or equivalent) in science-based subjects.

  • Understanding of cGMP; training will be provided.

  • Previous laboratory experience required.
