Job Description Summary

We are seeking a QA/QC Manager to oversee quality assurance and quality control for a data center project in Japan. The role will ensure that all designs, materials, and construction works meet international standards and local regulations. Responsibilities include leading quality planning, conducting design reviews, managing vendor assessments, performing site inspections, and monitoring testing of critical systems such as power, cooling, and fire protection. The manager will also handle non-conformance issues, corrective actions, and coordinate commissioning and project handover. This position requires strong knowledge of data center standards, expertise in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, and proven experience in managing quality processes for large-scale projects.

About the Role:

  • Develop and implement the Project Quality Plan (PQP) in alignment with international standards (TIA-942, Uptime Institute, ASHRAE) and local Japanese regulations.
  • Conduct design reviews, vendor assessments, and site inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Oversee FAT, SAT, and IST for critical systems such as power, cooling, and fire protection.
  • Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), punch lists, corrective actions, and ensure proper commissioning and handover.
  • Maintain QA/QC documentation, checklists, test plans (ITPs), and provide regular quality reporting.

About You:

  • Strong knowledge of data center standards (TIA-942, Uptime, ISO) and familiarity with Japanese building codes and practices.
  • Proven expertise in MEP systems, commissioning processes, and critical infrastructure.
  • Experience in QA/QC management for large-scale construction or data center projects.
  • Proficiency with QA tools and platforms (e.g., NCR logs, Procore, BIM 360, or similar).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in multicultural teams.
