Job Description

  

The QA Technician performs routine SMT and mechanical receiving inspections to ensure compliance with established quality standards. Working closely with Operations and Engineering, this role supports a wide range of in‑house PCBA soldering modifications using well‑defined methods and accessible documentation. The technician also contributes to internal root‑cause analysis and corrective‑action activities to support continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow documented inspection procedures for both electrical and mechanical evaluations.
  • Perform SMT/PCBA incoming inspection to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Execute in‑house PCBA changes, rework, and soldering modifications as required.
  • Conduct incoming mechanical inspections using precision measurement tools.
  • Document incoming inspection failures and initiate return to vendor paperwork. Could include conference calls with Vendors.
  • Accurately document findings and enter inspection data into the ERP system.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and company procedures.
  • Participate actively in quality improvement initiatives, including problem‑solving and corrective actions.
  • Position could extend to Cable/Crimp inspection with training.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in electronics, SMT, quality inspection, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with mechanical inspection tools (calipers, micrometers).
  • Experience with microscope inspection and SMT soldering required.
  • IPC J‑STD‑001 and/or IPC‑A‑610 certification preferred.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Ability to read and interpret PCBA drawings, diagrams, schematics, and related documentation.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity; skilled in hand‑tools and soldering techniques.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Comfortable working with microscopes and other precision inspection equipment.

  

Salary Range:

$44,500.00-$59,300.000
