Job Description – Test Lead (DCF-35)
Job Summary:
The purpose of this role is to ensure the developed software meets the client requirements and the business’ quality standards within the project release cycle and established processes. To lead technical initiatives to optimize the test approach and tools. This role will have a proven track record in managing a team of test engineers and will be responsible for defining test strategies, establishing metrics, and reporting on quality assurance activities. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and strong leadership skills to ensure the delivery of high-quality software.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead a team of test engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
- Develop detailed test plans and test cases and Plans and implements tests that cover the functional and non-functional requirements of the system.
- Define and implement comprehensive test strategies aligned with project goals and timelines.
- Sets up test environments, initial designs test plans, develops test cases/scenarios/usage cases, and executes these cases.
- Plans & initiates non-functional aspects of testing like performance testing.
- Establish and monitor key quality assurance metrics to measure effectiveness and efficiency.
- Implement and oversee the test process, ensuring thorough documentation of test results.
- Conduct test automation, including the creation and maintenance of automated test framework.
- Communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, providing detailed reports on QA activities and project status.
- Collaborate with development and product teams to resolve issues and improve the overall quality of the product.
- Conduct Audit of code repositories and documentation.
- Participates in communication with other departments to coordinate test and implementation activities.
- Leads the process and test efficiency improvement initiatives.
Must Have:
- Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience
- Proven experience in managing and leading a team of test engineers.
- Developing test plans, implementing test process, recording results, and publishing to stakeholders.
- Strong expertise in defining test strategy, establishing optimal test patterns, implementing metrics and reporting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience of improving quality in a product and understanding the quality needs of key stakeholders.
- Identifies potential process improvement areas, suggests options, and recommends approaches.
- Strong expertise in full SDLC, including test standards, code reviews, test data management, test methods and test techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of test automation, regression, integration, and system testing.
- Strong Experience with automation tools such as Selenium or Playwright or Cypress.
- Strong Experience with automation framework like Codecept.js or Serenity BDD or Cucumber.
- Experience on performance testing by using tools like JMeter.
- Participates in architecture for new projects.
- Strong communication skills (Written/verbal) and ability to help resolve problems for your team.
Good to have:
- Experience/knowledge of performance/load/volume testing.
- Familiarity with TDD and BDD and pyramid testing.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies, preferably Azure.
- Familiarity with tools such as JIRA and Git.
