We are seeking a skilled Functional QA Engineer with 5 years of hands-on experience in software testing, requirement analysis, and ensuring high-quality product delivery. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, deep understanding of SDLC/STLC, and expertise in validating business requirements, test execution, and defect management.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze business requirements, functional specifications, and convert them into detailed test scenarios and test cases.
- Perform end-to-end functional, integration, regression, and system testing.
- Participate in requirement walkthroughs and design discussions with product owners and development teams.
- Execute manual test cases, log defects, track them through resolution, and perform re-testing.
- Validate data, workflows, and UI behavior across various modules.
- Prepare test reports, provide execution summaries, and communicate QA status to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (BA, Dev, UAT, Support) to ensure timely delivery of quality releases.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by preparing UAT test cases and assisting business users.
- Identify test gaps, propose improvements, and contribute to process optimization.
- Ensure adherence to QA standards and best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Strong experience in functional/manual testing (5+ years).
- Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, defect life cycle, and QA methodologies.
- Experience in writing clear and comprehensive test cases, test plans, and test documentation.
- Proficiency in tracking/testing tools such as JIRA, ALM, Azure DevOps, or similar.
- Good knowledge of SQL for data validation and backend testing.
- Exposure to API testing using Postman or similar tools (preferred).
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Basic understanding of automation testing concepts (Selenium, TestNG, etc.).
- Experience in Agile/Scrum environment.
- Knowledge of domain-specific workflows (finance, retail, insurance, BFSI, etc.).
- Exposure to cloud environments (AWS / Azure).
