The opportunity

We are looking for a highly skilled Quality Assurance Engineer with strong expertise in test automation and modern QA practices. This is not a typical manual testing role - you will design and build automation frameworks, write advanced Python code, and collaborate closely with developers and data scientists. To succeed, you will need deep technical expertise in Python, object-oriented programming, Docker, and modern testing practices. Beyond technical skills, we are looking for someone who is open and communicative in order to collaborate efficiently and share their expertise.

Our R&D engineers, developers, QA specialists and scientists develop breakthrough technologies that change the way the world works, and how industries do business. We constantly push the limits of convention, while retaining our focus on delivering quality products and solutions to our customers.

You will join the Analytics Scrum Team, which develops a dedicated platform for analytical algorithms integrated with web applications used to monitor HVDC stations. Our solutions enable real-time data analysis, predictive maintenance, and visualization of key metrics to ensure the reliability and efficiency of high-voltage direct current systems.

High-Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) is a key enabler for a carbon-neutral energy system. For over 70 years, Hitachi Energy has delivered numerous technical innovations and delivered many projects. Today and in the future, solutions like HVDC, play an essential role in integrating renewable energy, decarbonizing power systems, and enhancing grid resilience and flexibility.

How you’ll make an impact

• Develop and maintain testing strategies for our Digital Offerings.

• Create test plans and design effective test cases with a strong focus on automation.

• Build and maintain test automation frameworks and test cases.

• Ensure comprehensive test coverage by working closely with software developers and data scientists.

•   Execute test cases, manage defects, and communicate testing status.

• Share your knowledge and promote QA best practices within the team.

Your background

• Advanced Python skills with a strong focus on automation and testing frameworks (3+ years).

• Solid understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices across the full testing lifecycle.

• Hands-on experience with integration, functional, system, and regression testing.

• Skilled in Docker and containerized environments.

• Experience in testing REST APIs.Performance testing skills and experience with related tools are a strong advantage.

• Basic understanding of message queues and event streaming (Rabbit MQ, Kafka) is a plus.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.

• Fluent in English, with excellent communication skills.
