Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a skilled QA Automation Engineer to lead the automation of testing processes across diverse web applications and APIs. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks using Playwright, Java, and JavaScript to ensure high-quality, reliable software releases. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement best practices, optimize testing strategies, and support continuous integration and delivery, thereby supporting our organizational goal of delivering dependable enterprise solutions.
Software Requirements
Required:
Proficiency in Playwright for browser automation, with experience in developing scalable scripts (latest versions preferred)
Strong expertise in Java programming for automation test scripts and API validation
Skilled in JavaScript/TypeScript for front-end automation and integration testing
Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, RestAssured, or similar tools
Knowledge of version control systems such as Git and source code management best practices
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines supporting automated testing (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket pipelines)
Experience in testing web applications across multiple browsers and devices
Preferred:
Experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes
Knowledge of security testing practices and tools
Experience supporting automation in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Overall Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks leveraging Playwright, Java, and JavaScript/TypeScript
Implement automation scripts for functional, regression, and API testing to support development cycles
Collaborate with development, product, and QA teams to understand testing requirements and implement testing strategies
Conduct code reviews, optimize existing test scripts, and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable faster, more reliable deployments
Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve issues uncovered during test executions
Maintain comprehensive test documentation, including test plans, scripts, and defect reports
Continuously evaluate emerging testing tools and frameworks, recommending process improvements

Programming Languages:
Required: Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Playwright scripting
Preferred: Additional scripting languages like Python or Bash for automation tasks
Test Automation Tools:
Playwright, Postman, RestAssured, Selenium (plus) for cross-browser compatibility and API testing

REST API validation, JSON schema validation, database verification (SQL, NoSQL)
CI/CD & DevOps:

Experience Requirements
4+ years of experience supporting web application testing automation in enterprise environments
Proven expertise in building, maintaining, and scaling automation frameworks using Playwright and Java/JavaScript
Experience in API testing, cross-browser UI automation, and integrating automation into CI/CD workflows
Familiarity with cloud environment testing support is a plus
Industry experience in finance, retail, or enterprise applications is advantageous
Day-to-Day Activities
Develop, update, and execute automated test cases for UI, functional, regression, and API testing
Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA teams to align testing strategies
Conduct performance profiling, troubleshoot failures, and improve test coverage and stability
Support integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery
Review and optimize test scripts for efficiency and reliability
Document testing procedures, checkpoints, and defect logs
Participate in daily scrum meetings, sprint planning, and review sessions
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
4+ years of experience supporting automation testing with Java, JavaScript, and Playwright
Certifications in testing tools, automation frameworks, or DevOps practices are preferred
Proven track record of delivering high-quality, scalable automation solutions in enterprise environments
