General Summary
The Puppet Fabrication CG Modeling Intern will gain valuable “hands on” production experience and training by working in collaboration with our skilled professionals. Interns are supported and challenged as they benefit from renowned stop motion animation expertise. Specifically, the Puppet Fabrication CG Modeling Intern will assist with creating digital components in the production of puppet bodies.
Job Functions
- Assist with creating digital puppet sculpts that are on scale and on model with character maquettes.
- Assist with providing digital 3D templates of puppets for armature designers.
- Assist with creating highly precise digital molds and mold components for 3D printing.
- Perform tasks related to model reductions and grip block creation.
- Collaborate with and assist in supporting multiple departments in digital needs.
- Assist in creating asset library of joint arrays.
- Practically assemble printed molds before handing off to downstream departments.
- Meet Jr Digital Fabricator duties as required within production schedules while maintaining a high standard of quality.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior in college/university or graduated within the last 12 months.
- Basic knowledge of Maya, Zbrush, and Photoshop.
- Basic understanding of organic modeling.
- Basic understanding of rigging in Maya, preferred.
- Basic knowledge of MEL or Python, preferred.
- Prior experience with Rapid Prototyping/3D printing, preferred.
- Prior experience in puppet fabrication or mold fabrication, preferred.
- Detail oriented with excellent communication skills.
- Able to work both collaboratively and independently.

Salary
$20.00/hour set rate, non-negotiable
