Pulverizer Technician - 2nd Shift

Summary 

The purpose of this position is to ensure that the pulverization equipment and process is operated efficiently and safely. This position also includes precision pulverizer blade settings, quality checks, lift truck operations, and operating the pulverization equipment   

Position reports to the Profile Shift Supervisor 

Primary Job Tasks 

Learn, understand, and operate pulverizer systems 

Visual inspections of the pulverizer and dust collection monitoring systems in the following areas: 

Pulverizer room and attached auxillary equipment, Camfil dust collection unit, waste trailer area, dust reclaim tanker area 

Communicate downtime events and quality concerns through technology  

Forms, computer, and radio usage 

Maintain a clean and safe workspace 

Identify and communicate Maintenance support needs through supervisor. 

Perform quality testing and sampling on regular interval 

Record quality testing using designated forms 

Make process adjustments to address quality concerns including but not limited to: 

Blade gap settings, blade replacements, material feed rates 

Maintain awareness of and coordinate waste trailer and pulverizer tanker replacements with Shipping Dept and assist with trailer replacement tasks 

Assist with dust reclaim box out system as needed 

Perform all shift cleaning assignments  

Train new Technicians  

Other duties as requested by Lead or Supervisor 

Requirements:  

Must have the ability to perform basic reading, writing, and math 

Must follow all Plant RP safety requirements including PPE usage 

Must be familiar with or willing to learn current computer systems and software  

Must be able to operate a lift truck once trained 

Must be able to lift 5-15lbs on a regular basis throughout the day  

Must have the ability to be cross trained for other jobs 

Demonstrated ability to make timely decisions 

Passion and track record of achieving results  

Proven ability to work collaboratively with all levels of associates 

Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required
