About the Role

As a Publisher, you will play a key role in the development, acquisition, and successful market release of Wolters Kluwer | Medknow health publications, including journals, books, and digital content. Building on your foundational publishing knowledge, you will assume increased responsibility across editorial and business development activities, contributing to the quality, reach, and commercial success of our publishing portfolio. Your work will directly support the dissemination of high‑quality health information that advances clinical practice and improves patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal teams to achieve the goals and objectives of the Wolters Kluwer | Medknow publishing program.

  • Build, maintain, and regularly update a journal acquisition target list for India and other global markets.

  • Support the Publishing Manager with journal subscription and renewal processes, ensuring timely renewals and appropriate pricing to maximize financial returns.

  • Stay current with publishing industry trends, develop strong competitive intelligence, and contribute insights on future market developments.

  • Respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and expressions of interest in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.

  • Assist in identifying publishing priorities through marketplace research, competitive analysis, and idea generation.

  • Provide support for marketing activities, including development of promotional materials for publishing and outreach initiatives.

  • Prepare weekly progress reports and provide general administrative support to the publishing team.

  • Coordinate with production, finance, IT, and dispatch teams to ensure timely scheduling, publication, and distribution of journals.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Market Research: Ability to conduct research and translate insights into actionable publishing strategies.

  • Digital Publishing Tools: Familiarity with content management systems and digital publishing platforms.

  • Business Development & Key Account Management: Experience supporting client relationships and acquisition activities.

  • Communication Skills: Strong command of spoken and written English, with effective networking and interpersonal abilities.

  • Presentation & Negotiation: Confident presentation skills and the ability to support commercial discussions.

  • Administrative & Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel) and electronic communication tools.

  • Organizational Skills: Strong time management, coordination, and attention to detail.
