Job Purpose
GSK is looking to hire a Public Vaccines Manager to join our Vaccines team. This role is field-based contract, and reports directly to the First Line Sales Leader. This position covers the Calgary territory.
 

As the Public Vaccines Manager, you will provide analytical and strategic support for all pricing related revenue generating opportunities including tender strategy, price increases, vaccine product launches, customer relationship management, UMV pull-through, and product life cycle management strategies for the vaccine’s portfolio.
 

Details (Your Responsibilities)  

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following: 

  • Proactively manage supply for innovative and classic vaccines to mitigate shortages while maintaining optimum shelf life. Includes regular touchpoints with global and local supply to monitor and adjust vaccine allocation through global escalation processes. When supply issues occur, lead mitigation supply issue process with cross-functional team by influencing without authority.

  • Maximize UMV pull-through for innovative vaccines by working strategically with GAMA and Marketing teams and strong external stakeholder management.

  • Lead tender strategies for upcoming tenders, increasing the value proposition of the vaccine portfolio while driving growth and presenting overall strategy at Launch & Commercial Excellence to CLT. Once approved, prepare, and submit tenders for public vaccine contracts to PSPC and Quebec.

  • Review monthly public volumes providing analysis on performance vs forecast and updating monthly forecast using gathered insights.

  • Support vaccine early commercial assets by assessing current environment, future market opportunity, patient population, competitive analysis, and optimal launch timing.

  • Ensure compliance and governance is aligned with global and local SOPs for all tendering, contracting, and pricing decisions throughout a product’s lifecycle including updating the global database in a timely and consistent manner.

  • Support VPP strategy development ensuring proper governance and compliance for pricing and contracting.

  • Collaborate with other individuals within the organization at different levels, including Marketing, GAMA, Supply, Quality, Finance, Customer Service, Distribution and Regulatory. In this role, you would also work with external consultants and agencies as well as with GSK colleagues in other countries.

  • Support development and dissemination of customer-related communications impacting Public Health stakeholders.

  • Represent Vaccines BU in internal forums such as Quality Council and Drug Shortages Meetings.

  • Desire and energy for project/task ownership.

  • Ability to interact effectively across the organization at all levels. 

  • An understanding and an ability to work with secondary market research data.

  • Ability to make recommendations in an environment of uncertainty and ambiguity.

  • Positive attitude towards problem solving and subsequent customer communication.

  • Superior technical knowledge in using Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Montreal location: Bilingualism (French/English) required. Due to the nature of the work tasks, applicants must be bilingual in French and English (written/spoken) to be considered, as in their role the incumbent must work closely with external/internal stakeholders in other provinces/countries that do not speak French).
     

Preferred Qualifications:  
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • MBA

  • Bilingualism (French/English)

  • A thorough understanding of finance, market dynamics, reimbursement, and primary market research.

  • Experience in managing tender submissions and contracts.

  • Familiarity with the public vaccines market including knowledge of Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC).

The annual compensation for this role is CAD115,000 to CAD165,000 , determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
