Purpose Within the Organization:
The purpose of the Campus Safety Student Guard position is to assist with GCU’s Public Safety department in effort to keep campus safe.
Responsibilities Related to Purpose:
- Respond to campus safety calls as needed.
- Direct traffic to different campus locations at booths.
- Greet, ID, and decal check everyone coming onto campus.
- Assist with other details as assigned by a Public Safety Supervisor or Manager.
Qualifications:
- Criminal Justice Studies or ROTC student preferred.
- The ideal candidate will have a positive, friendly, and outgoing personality.
- Customer service oriented.
- Must be punctual.
- Willingness to learn and able to follow procedures.
- Responsible, trustworthy, approachable, and assertive.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:
- Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program.
- Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
- Maintain good financial standing with the University.
