Role Overview
The Public Policy Partner for Central Asia will play a critical role in shaping and influencing healthcare policies to ensure patient access to innovative medicines. The role involves creating value-based partnerships, advocating for favorable healthcare reforms, and driving initiatives that align with Roche's commitment to advancing healthcare systems. Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, this position requires strategic thinking, strong relationship management, and a deep understanding of the healthcare and political landscape in Central Asia.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Partnerships: Build alliances with government and health authorities, industry associations, and funding sources to secure healthcare initiatives.
Policy & Advocacy: Monitor and influence legislation; develop policy plans that accelerate product performance and market access.
Government Relations: Act as a Roche representative in government meetings and industry events to drive the regional engagement strategy.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams to align policy efforts with business priorities and strategic outcomes.
Growth Identification: Pursue opportunities in new disease areas and alternative funding models.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Pharma, Law, Economics, Political Science, or related fields (MBA/PR a plus).
Experience: 2+ years in healthcare (Pharma/MedTech); Government Affairs experience is a strong advantage.
Skills: Proven ability to influence systemic change, interpret complex data, and negotiate in ambiguous environments.
Communication: Excellent negotiation skills and a proactive approach to anticipating and addressing emerging issues.
A strong interest in innovation trends and the ability to collaborate across sectors and with external stakeholders to advocate for transformative healthcare policies
Languages: Proficiency in Russian and Kazakh; English - at least upper-intermediate level.
Travel: Willingness to travel across the region at least around 50%.
