Major Responsibilities:
  • Under the direction of the supervising neuropsychologist, administers and scores a comprehensive battery of standardized neuropsychological and psychological tests. Assists with the coordination of testing procedures for clinical and/or research programs. Participates in the development and modification of test batteries to evaluate patient cognitive abilities, aptitudes, achievement, personality, and psychological status. Determines the most suitable testing procedures to be used and adapts procedures as necessary.
  • Prepares patient charts and testing materials in coordination with the supervising neuropsychologist.
  • Administers tests in a standardized manner, ensuring accuracy while documenting detailed behavioral observations throughout the testing processes to aid the neuropsychologist with their interpretation and the completeness of the patient’s evaluation.
  • Participates in establishing proficiency in job duties at the desired level of competency i.e.; review and ensure timeliness and accuracy of administering tests and scoring patient charts.
  • Utilizes computerized scoring software, word processing, and database programs to prepare a summary of test results.
  • Assists with administration duties such as coordination of scheduling patients, patient reminder phone calls, insurance checks, and performing regular inventory checks on testing protocols, materials and office supplies.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
  • None Required.

Education Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or related field.

Experience Required:
  • Typically requires 1 year of experience in neuropsychological procedures or similar direct patient care

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
  • Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions and follow standardized protocols.
  • Organized and detailed orientated in order to ensure accuracy and completeness of neuropsychological data.
  • Excellent interpersonal and patient service skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft office programs.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time, and occasionally reach, bend, stoop, or lean over.
  • Ability to hear normal voice level communications in person or through the telephone.
  • Ability to speak clearly and understandably.
