Job Summary: About the Position: This position is with Defense Health Agency, Mental Health Clinic located at the Ireland Army Health Clinic, Fort Knox, KY. This position serves as Inpatient/Outpatient Mental Health (IBH) Psychology Technician, providing individualized and group, direct and indirect patient care to clients that are primarily active-duty military soldiers and other eligible personnel, and consultation. Hours: 0800-1630 This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.

Major Duties:

  • Assist in developing patient treatment plan based on interview data, observations, reports of others, review of records, psychological test results, and physical and mental status of the client.
  • Perform intake and ongoing mental status evaluations for patients.
  • Consult with clinics/services within the hospital to facilitate efficient delivery of psychological services.
  • Monitor the use of hazardous items.
  • Assist with interpreting data and providing treatment recommendations.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which conducting intake for behavioral health patients, educating and/or counseling behavioral health patients, and maintaining patient records. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Psychology, Human Services, Child & Family Welfare, Counseling, (ex. Crisis, substance abuse, mental health, chemical dependence), Family and Community Services, Behavioral Science, Human Development, Social Work, Sociology, Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling.
