SCOPE OF POSITION:
OSU Harding Hospital/East Hospital-Talbot Hall provides the most comprehensive behavioral healthcare services for adults in central Ohio. We offer more treatment options and a more experienced and diversified staff than any other psychiatric or behavioral healthcare provider in the area. All of our psychiatric emergency, behavioral health urgent care, inpatient, outpatient, IOP, and partial hospitalization services include a comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis from a qualified clinician and implementation of an individualized treatment plan. We offer specialized evidence-based services for patients experiencing psychiatric emergency & crisis, need for behavioral health immediate care, mood and anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, psychosis, trauma- and stress-related disorders, and sexual dysfunction. We offer specialty programs in women’s behavioral health, addictions, trauma, adolescent school-based, and neurocognitive disorders. Talbot Hall provides the most comprehensive addiction services for adults in central Ohio, offering specialized evidence-based services for patients experiencing a substance use disorder. We offer traumatic brain injury specific treatment, the latest Medicated Assisted Treatment for opiate and alcohol use disorders. Talbot offers detox, Intensive Outpatient, partial hospitalization and many outpatient and continuing care groups. Patients and their family will experience the benefits of patient-focused care through the integrated skills of all treatment team members. PES Clinicians serve as a critical part of our clinical team; they are an independent provider who functions within the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team to provide assessment, counseling, and psychotherapy.

Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES), as a multi-disciplinary team of behavioral health professionals, facilitates inquiries about and access to Psychiatric Services on a 24-hour basis. As a Harding service embedded in the Medical Center Emergency Departments, PES provides comprehensive face-to-face, or via telemedicine system, mental health & substance use evaluations, crisis assessments, and short-term psychotherapy to adult patients presenting with psychiatric emergencies to the Medical Center Emergency Departments. When appropriate & possible, PES assists patients & families with linkage to inpatient, partial, and outpatient services for adults through Harding Hospital and/or other services in the community. PES also provides the intake and admitting function, insurance verification, precertification,
and telephone consultation to referral sources regarding access to Harding services. PES works collaboratively with programs within Harding, the Emergency Department, other departments of the Medical Center, & other community behavioral health facilities.


POSITION SUMMARY:
Clinical and education position, including, but not limited to:
• Complete comprehensive diagnostic evaluation for patients with mental health, addiction, and crisis-related complaints.
• Provide brief crisis stabilization/counseling/psychotherapy to individuals with mental & behavioral disorders to facilitate return to previous or improved functioning.
• Conduct evidenced-based suicide, crisis, and risk assessments & intervention.
• Formulate individualized treatment plans to assist patients to determine and meet treatment goals.
• Assess patient needs, and coordinate linkage with necessary services and community resources.
• Other duties include assisting with the PES intake and admitting function, insurance verification, precertification, and telephone consultation to referral sources regarding access to Harding services, advocating within local community if needed; work as part of clinical team; maintain third-party payer relationships; and complete all necessary paperwork (e.g., disability, FMLA); maintain third-party payer relationships.

Master's Degree in Social Work or Counseling. A current Ohio professional licensure required (LSW or LPC). 0 years of relevant experience required. 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred. Experience in crisis intervention and inpatient psychiatric care is desired.
