Our Advisory Finance Services – Risk & Regulatory team  

At PwC Ireland, our Financial Services Advisory practice works with leading organisations across retail banking, corporate & international banking, insurance, asset and wealth management, and payment services. We help clients build resilient, compliant, and forward-looking businesses which are set up for regulatory compliance  

Purpose-led work 

Join PwC as a Prudential Risk & Compliance Manager in our Financial Services Risk & Regulation practice, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. In this role, you will contribute to the design and implementation of robust prudential risk frameworks, capital and liquidity solutions, supervisory remediation and regulatory engagement across the ECB, SSM and national competent authorities. 

We’re seeking a motivated professional that is passionate about driving meaningful prudential risk and compliance change in the banking and investment firm sector. This role will be suit someone who thrives in dynamic environments, who can tackle complex problems while embracing the PwC values. 

To support you in delivering this role, you will access to PwC’s network of experienced prudential risk and regulatory SME resources across Europe including PwC’s SSM & EBA Office, which serves as a central hub in the PwC EU network, comprising seasoned banking supervision experts.  

Responsibilities include:    

  • Supporting our clients to design, implement and oversee prudential risk frameworks, regulatory compliance programmes and supervisory engagement across EU banking and investment firm clients. 

  • Supporting clients in supervisory engagement and remediation programmes (across risk, finance and compliance first line functions) including their interactions with regulators, responses to SREP findings, remediation programmes and/or support banking licence or branch applications. 

  • Building your network within PwC’s leading Risk and Regulation services and global network to proactively identify and pursue opportunities to add value for clients across end-to-end the prudential risk management and compliance lifecycle. 

  • Collaboratively nurturing and building trusted relationships with client stakeholders, particularly across the finance and risk functions. 

  • Supporting regulatory propositions and proposals to clients to meet their current and emerging risk and compliance needs; 

  • Coaching and mentoring of junior consultants fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, inclusive leadership, and development. 

  • Support the Prudential team to stay up to date with the latest trends and regulatory developments affecting the banking and investment firm industry in the EU and globally, integrating these insights into your consulting approach to deliver forward-looking advice and solutions. 

 Experience and skills 

  • Degree qualified with relevant risk qualifications (e.g. FRM, PRMIA or equivalent) an advantage;   

  • A demonstrated strong understanding of the EU prudential risk and compliance regulatory landscape for banking and investment firms and an ability to leverage this knowledge to deliver impactful regulatory projects across areas such as, but not limited to, operating model design, risk framework design, regulatory engagement, remediation and implementation.  

  • Specifically, this demonstrated strong understanding of the EU prudential risk and compliance regulatory landscape should include: 

  • Risk stripe specific experience, specifically in credit risk, market risk and operational risk 

  • Finance and treasury experience in capital adequacy, liquidity adequacy, recovery and resolution, stress testing and regulatory reporting and ESG risk management; and/or 

  • ESG experience including ESG risk frameworks, materiality assessments, embedding ESG into risk environment and reporting & disclosures. 

  • 5+ years’ experience in a Financial Services prudential-focused role, preferably in the banking sector. 

  • Experience working with Regulated Institutions, ideally within the banking sector, consulting and/or advising on prudential risk management and compliance delivery models. 

  • An experienced people leader, with a background of inspiring and developing high performance teams to deliver operational excellence and high-quality standards. 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting to and building positive and trusted working relationships with senior client stakeholders. 

  • Ability to quickly establish credibility and influence diverse client stakeholders through professional expertise and solution-oriented mindset.
