Job Description:

Major Responsibilities

Child Protection Programming, Safeguarding & Case Management

  • Lead the implementation of child protection activities including risk assessments, awareness sessions, and referral mechanisms.
  • Facilitate the formation of Child Advisory Committees and Most Vulnerable Children (MVC) mapping.
  • Support the development of community-based child protection systems and positive parenting initiatives.
  • Establish and manage safeguarding protocols, including Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA).
  • Provide Psychological First Aid (PFA), Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS), and referral services for GBV and child protection cases
  • Ensure, lead, and organize the well-established Feedback and Complaint mechanism FCM in all targeted area
  • Ensure confidentiality, safety, and dignity in all case management processes.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning

  • Develop and maintain child protection indicators and contribute to project M&E frameworks.
  • Ensure proper record, report and respond in timely manner for the child and adult cases, and feedback and complaints as well.
  • Document lessons learned, success stories, and best practices.
  • Participate in internal and external learning forums and coordination meetings
  • Support necessary data to the team members

Integration of GEDSI & DRR

  • Ensure all child protection activities are inclusive and sensitive to gender, disability, and social exclusion.
  • Conduct GEDSI analysis and support inclusive planning and implementation.
  • Collaborate with DRR teams to integrate child protection into community DRR plans and early warning systems.

Capacity Building & Community Engagement

  • Support/Conduct Training of Trainers (ToT) for staff, volunteers, and community members on Child Rights, GEDSI, GBV, DRR, and safeguarding.
  • Facilitate community awareness sessions on child protection, inclusion, and disaster preparedness.
  • Build capacity of local stakeholders, including faith leaders and community influencers, to promote protective environment

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology, Child Development, or related field (master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years in child protection, safeguarding, or protection programming in humanitarian or development contexts.
  • Proficiency in Myanmar and English.
  • Frequent travel to field sites is essential.
  • Ability to travel to remote areas and conduct fieldwork
  • Strong understanding of GEDSI, DRR, and safeguarding standards.
  • Experience in case management, referral systems, and psychosocial support.
  • Knowledge of child protection frameworks (e.g., CRC, CPMS).
  • Strong facilitation, training, and community mobilization skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and data reporting tools.
  • Ability to work in conflict-affected and sensitive environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
