The Protection Associate will play a key role in ensuring that protection is fully integrated across temporary shelters and that women at risk accommodated in UNHCR-supported temporary shelters receive coordinated and rights-based support. The incumbent will oversee the case management framework, ensuring that each resident has an individual case plan and that documentation, follow-up, and referrals are carried out consistently. She or he will also oversee the implementation of the SafeGuard GBV prevention initiative, ensuring that protection principles and preventive measures are embedded in daily management and community engagement. Based in Tunis, the incumbent will supervise one colleague directly and provide technical guidance to colleagues in the field to ensure coherent standards and continuity of care.
Additionally, the position supports the gradual transition of case management functions to relevant sub-units while maintaining technical oversight and direct responsibility for complex and sensitive cases, including those with GBV and MHPSS elements. She or he will coordinate closely with protection and MHPSS partners and state institutions such as the Child Protection Delegates (DPE) and social centers to ensure timely referrals, effective follow-up, and coordinated case responses.
