Job Description:

Prosthetics Coordinator provides customer service, in person as well as with telephone etiquette, greets patients and visitors upon arrival to clinic, schedules appointments for multiple clinic locations, verifies insurance, and ensures that experiences with our office are held to a superior standard. It is important to confidently provide excellent customer service. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  

  • Primary responsibility is to provide excellent customer service to patients, referring physicians, and anyone that calls our office. 
  • Answers the telephones and greets patients in a courteous, efficient manner. Routes calls/messages to appropriate discipline/department.
  • Perform front offices duties including but not limited to checking in patients and visitors for appointments and meetings; direct patient flow to ensure clinic efficiency; monitor waiting room 
  • Measures patient height / weight and vital signs.
  • Assists with creation and submission of PT orders.
  • Cleans/Stocks exam rooms, procedure rooms, and other clinical areas to meet daily needs.
  • Mail out or generate Patient Satisfaction Surveys and any other necessary correspondence  
  • Schedule appointments and maintain clinic schedules for multiple providers and locations 
  • Schedule MD justifications 
  • Accurately maintain Prosthetic Excel spreadsheets  
  • Maintaining multiline phone system; obtaining appropriate information to transfer calls to proper person 
  • Scanning patient records into EMR 
  • Update patient data upon receipt of information. 
  • Performing data entry, copying, faxing, emailing 
  • Performing other duties as requested 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Medical Terminology, preferably related to Prosthetics. 
  • Interpersonal/human relations skills, including telephone etiquette. 
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work productively and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Electronic Medical Record 
  • Ability to set priorities while multitasking.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality according to HIPAA guidelines. 
  • Strong computer skills including Windows file management and MS Office, and e-mail experience.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in customer service required, medical office experience preferred.
  • Electronic Medical Records experience preferred or within 90 days.
