Proposal Specialist - Commercial Excellence - Commercial Contracts

The Proposal Specialist will play a crucial role in developing compelling and high-quality proposals that drive business growth for Thomson Reuters. This individual will be responsible for coordinating the end-to-end proposal process, ensuring all submissions are tailored to client needs and reflect our innovative solutions.

About the Role

In this opportunity as Proposal Specialist, you will:

  • Lead development and coordination of complex proposals, bids, and presentations in response to RFPs, RFIs, and unsolicited requests, managing timelines and resources to meet strict deadlines.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, product, legal, and internal teams to gather information, ensure proposal accuracy, and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.

  • Demonstrate strong customer focus by understanding client requirements and translating them into persuasive proposal language that articulates Thomson Reuters' value proposition.

  • Champion innovation in proposal content and presentation, conducting competitive intelligence research and seeking new ways to differentiate offerings.

  • Utilize strong problem-solving skills to overcome challenges during proposal development and actively participate in continuous process improvement initiatives.

  • Deliver professional presentations of proposal content to internal teams and clients, demonstrating in-depth product knowledge and a results-oriented mindset.

  • Support sourcing, procurement, and supplier management activities related to proposal development, proficiently using Microsoft Office Suite for creation and project management.



About You

You're fit for the role of Proposal Specialist if your background includes:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in proposal writing, bid management, or a similar role, preferably within a technology or information services company.

  • Demonstrated ability to champion innovation and drive continuous improvement in proposal processes.

  • Exceptional customer service skills with a keen understanding of client needs and expectations.

  • Strong analytical and group problem-solving abilities.

  • Proficient in internet usage for research and competitive analysis.

  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to influence and guide cross-functional teams.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain personal relationships.

  • Solid product knowledge or the ability to quickly acquire it.

  • Outstanding professional presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Highly results-oriented with a proven track record of successful proposal outcomes.

  • Familiarity with sourcing and procurement processes is a plus.

  • Experience with supplier management is beneficial.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
