A day in the life

Our Accounting team oversees the company’s financial well-being and supports operational and business planning in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. We are entrusted to properly account for and report the business activity at our large and growing company.  As a Property Tax Accounting Manager in our downtown Denver office, you will be a part of a global accounting team and will manage the team responsible for all aspects of US property tax operations, including accruals, payments, reconciliations, and customer interactions. Your contributions will ensure accurate financial records, compliance with regulations, and the overall financial success of our business. We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a strong background in analytics, a passion for process improvement, and can develop team members.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Perform detailed reviews of monthly property tax accruals to ensure accuracy and maintain financial integrity.
  • Review account reconciliations for property tax-related accounts to validate balances and prepare adjusting entries as needed.
  • Ensure timely and accurate property tax payments to various jurisdictions, avoiding penalties and interest.
  • Stay up to date on regulations and compliance requirements, including managing California Proposition 13 property tax needs.
  • Review property tax true-ups and Yardi .csv files to ensure seamless integration into the property management system.
  • Understand and oversee the CAM reconciliation/true-up process, including the impact of PeopleSoft recoverable expense uploads into Yardi.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement to establish scalable processes and efficiencies.
  • Embrace automation and continually identify how multiple systems impacting property tax processes can be better utilized.
  • Provide coaching, support, and motivation to the team and embody Prologis’ traits and the Finance Leadership Principles.

Building blocks for success

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 5+ years of experience, preferably with accounting experience at a large multi-entity company or public accounting experience.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel, Outlook, and Word) and reporting systems (PeopleSoft and Yardi Property Management experience preferred).
  • Demonstrated robust analytical, process improvement, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate issues and solutions to management and engage with operations, accounting, and finance teams effectively.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively, manage multiple tasks and reporting deadlines under pressure, while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Proven management skills, including developing and growing team members, with prior supervisory experience strongly preferred.

Hiring Salary Range of: $123,000 - $150,000. Salary and whole compensation package (bonus target) to be determined by the candidate’s location, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
