Major Duties:

  • If selected at the GS-05 level, duties will be performed in a developmental capacity.
  • Serves as the primary visitor control point of contact for DLA Disposition Services and manually screens all incoming and outgoing vehicles, passenger baggage, and personnel prior to entering field office facilities.
  • Manages the scheduling database for incoming and outbound shipment appointments.
  • Supports customer inquiries and actions related to property.
  • Reviews, prepares, and maintains reports of excess property and performs inspections to ensure technical accuracy.
  • Researches, reconciles, and advises on a broad range of database rejects and records discrepancies for many different types of property disposal actions.

Qualifications: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-07 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. To qualify at the GS-05 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: GS-07: Scheduling transportation and shipments. Supporting customers and responding to inquiries. Reviewing reports for technical accuracy. Education Substitution: Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. To qualify based on education in lieu of specialized experience, you must possess: GS-07: As a general rule, education is not creditable above GS-05 for most positions covered by this standard; however, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position. GS-05: 4 years above high school. C. Combination: Equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements at grade GS-05. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience at grade GS-05. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
