RMIT University Property Services Group is seeking a Property Business Partner to support the College of Vocational Education (VE), College of Business and Law (CoBL) and RMIT Portfolios—acting as the key interface between Property and stakeholder groups.

In this role you will be responsible for working closely with stakeholders across the enterprise to understand their needs and translate them into clear, practical space planning and design outcomes.

You’re not here to just take briefs—you’re here to guide conversations, challenge assumptions and drive better use of space to support our community, connection and experience through places that enable learning and research impact.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Act as the primary property partner

  • Lead conversations on space planning, allocation and utilisation, balancing competing priorities

  • Translate stakeholder needs into fit-for-purpose spatial and design solutions

  • Provide clear, structured advice including options, trade-offs and recommendations

  • Build trusted relationships and influence senior stakeholders

  • Coordinate across Property Services to drive outcomes and maintain momentum

  • Use data and insights to support evidence-based decision making

What We’re Looking For

This role is about influence, communication and delivery.

  • Proven experience in a business partnering or stakeholder-facing role in a complex environment

  • Ability to communicate spatial, planning or design concepts in plain English

  • Confidence engaging senior stakeholders and holding the line when needed

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities

  • Proactive, solutions-focused and comfortable working with ambiguity

Nice to have (not essential):

  • Background in architecture, design, property or planning

  • Experience working with space planning, workplace environments or capital projects

Please Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children and National Police Check.

About the Group

Property Services is located in the Operations Portfolio which is the services nucleus of RMIT and the focus for the development of the finance, people development infrastructure and systems that provide administrative capacity to the University. Property Services has approximately 110 staff and has the responsibility to operate, maintain and enhance the buildings owned and leased by RMIT University, oversee construction projects and ensure the provision of physical facilities services.
