As a Project Quality Engineer, you will report with a solid line to the Regional Quality Manager and a dotted line to the Product Line Quality Manager. You will be responsible for ensuring the effective application of the Baker Hughes Quality Management System (QMS) and customer requirements across the assigned project scope, acting as a key quality representative toward customers, execution teams and suppliers.
As a Project Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Project Quality Planning & Execution
- Implementing quality requirements into product specifications and ensuring compliance at fabrication and execution locations.
- Establishing the Project Quality Plan, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and related quality documents to guide proper execution.
- Leading the Go / No-Go process for fabrication start and facilitating pre-production meetings.
- Ensuring adherence to Product Line directives for standard quality requirements at fabrication sites.
Audits, Inspections & Controls
- Performing frequent product quality audits, inspections and quality walks to ensure project requirements are properly flown down.
- Running quality meetings with internal and external stakeholders to cover all product and project quality aspects.
- Supporting and collaborating in supplier quality records (Manufacturing Record Book – MRB) approval processes.
- Implementing and monitoring Project Quality KPIs related to MRBs, non-conformances, and punch lists.
Customer & Stakeholder Interface
- Acting as the primary point of contact for customers on all quality-related aspects of the project.
- Interfacing with customer site representatives, second- and third-party inspectors during execution, including inspection notifications.
- Collaborating with product delivery teams to identify, track and close punch-list items.
Problem Solving, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Auditing technical requirements and implementing controls to ensure compliance.
- Ensuring project Lessons Learned are properly captured, addressed and communicated to Project Management and Product Delivery teams.
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Mechanical, Production or Petroleum Engineering.
- Have advanced proficiency in English, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across different countries and regions.
- Have knowledge of Brazilian customer quality requirements related to the fabrication of subsea equipment, including XTs, Manifolds and Tooling.
- Have experience supporting or conducting quality audits for customer project assessments.
- Have strong fundamentals in product quality inspection, testing and documentation analysis.
- Have solid experience interfacing directly with customers.
