Key Responsibilities:

The Project Manager will lead the overall coordination and implementation of the We Rise Together project, ensuring alignment with project objectives, including capacity building of CSOs, promoting inclusion, and advocacy for social justice. They will manage project start-up, monitor progress, facilitate stakeholder engagement, and ensure compliance with donor requirements through regular review of reports and communication. This role is vital for achieving sustainable and inclusive project outcomes

Major Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee grant planning, implementation, monitoring and ensure that all strategic objectives are met through proper design, staffing, and quality assurance
  • Provide critical guidance in enabling understanding, operationalizing, monitoring and managing the grant proposal and grant compliance with support from Grant team and project liaisons.
  • Manage project Staff according to the HR policies and procedures related to the Grant project.
  • Develop networks and maintain relationships with relevant Government Departments, local & international partners and WVL APs and WVL departments to obtain necessary services/support for project implementation and represent the organization in all relevant internal & external meetings.
  • Establish project steering committee and attend regular project steering committee meetings to present project progress, any concerns and challenges related to project implementation.
  • Ensure all assessments, baseline and evaluations are done following the set standards of the project in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that the processes of planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting are in place and performed in a timely manner.
  • Manage grant/project budget within approved spending levels and ensure accurate and timely financial reports to donors and SO staff.
  • Manage Resources with integrity and stewardship in compliance with WVL’s and Grant financial policies and procedures.

Required qualifications, experience & competencies

  • A Master’s or Bachelors degree or in Social Sciences, International Development Studies or Community development
  • At least 10 years of experience in Community Development projects , CSO Strengthening programmes /Project Management or Coordination in a complex, international organization preferably in the INGO context.
  • Experience in Working with partners / Partner management
  • Knowledge and experience in GEDSI , Working with PwD in an advantage
  • Experience in project design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and report writing.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Tamil, with moderate knowledge of Sinhala considered an added advantage.
