Project Manager, Strategic Implementation and Onboarding

The Project Manager, Strategic Implementation and Onboarding oversees complex telecom service projects involving Lit and Dark Fiber, Ethernet, and other high-value services, ensuring technical and contractual requirements are met. 

This position will onboard large project order series, validate service staging, and manage cross-functional coordination, stakeholder relationships, and operational workflows while leveraging expertise in project management, service architectures, and data analysis. Proficiency in tools like Salesforce, MS Excel and Google Sheets, along with strong critical thinking and communication skills, are essential to succeed in this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage larger volume and complex service order validation and project onboarding for Zayo’s strategic Customer base

  • Stand up standard large and strategic project reporting, assist with kick off collateral where requested, and implement quality review techniques to ensure a smooth transition to the Service Delivery team

  • Develop & maintain bulk load templates and toolsets for Large Project onboarding

  • Perform and oversee daily PM operational tasks working cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and departments

  • Build, maintain, and report operational metrics for assigned project milestone management

  • Work with Finance and other stakeholder teams to ensure milestone and contractual prepayment for services is properly staged and managed

COMPETENCIES

  • Competent in project management with a demonstrated ability to manage projects to stakeholder technical specifications and contract requirements

  • Possesses effective internal stakeholder and customer management skills (verbal and written) including prioritization, collaboration, stakeholder analysis, and communication

  • Brings demonstrated system and process knowledge in network and fiber services implementation

  • Is a key cross-functional individual with excellent communication skills who is comfortable working with Customers, Product Management, Product Operations, Systems Development, Order Experts, Deal Management, Sales & Sales Leadership, Order Validation, Service Order Management, Engineering, Billing Operations, Customer Success, and Accounts Receivable

  • Is a known “go-to” person/trusted advisor that willingly assists other team members

  • Assists with analysis to support cross-functional review of initiatives and projects. 

  • Embodies the ‘Voice of the Customer’ and “Voice of the Business” feedback to stakeholders

  • Core competency with big data management, bulk loading, change management techniques

  • Advanced skills with MS Excel and Google Sheets, Salesforce

  • Strong command of Gsuite and MS Office suite

  • Basic SOQL and bulk data load experience an asset 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in managing Telecom service projects

  • Thorough knowledge of systems/tools, processes, and application of project management methodology at strategic and tactical levels.

  • Familiarity with Outside Plant & Field Operations processes an asset 

  • Excellent project management and critical thinking skills; Excellent customer and stakeholder management skills (verbal and written) including risk analysis and conflict management/resolution

  • Ability to influence teams to action that are not in a direct reporting relationship to the team

  • Self driven and motivated to provide exceptional customer service

  • Ability to see and close personal gaps/growth areas; desire to continually improve and move up in the organization

Estimated base salary range: $68,100 - $104,700 USD/annually.

The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.

Additionally, this position may be eligible for certain benefits, such as health insurance, life insurance, disability retirement plans, paid time off.
