Project Manager – MFG Operations

Position Summary
The Project Manager plays an important role in the development and execution of projects & initiatives to support manufacturing operations. They develop and maintain project schedules to ensure activities are carried out in accordance with established deliverables, schedules, and budgets. This individual will coordinate with interdepartmental functions to efficiently allocate resources while also interfacing with key stakeholders to help define priorities for project initiatives within the Operations organization. Projects will range from manufacturing process improvements to facilities and equipment moves or upgrades, to business process improvements. The ideal candidate exhibits exceptional communication and project management skills along with a strong background in systems thinking and problem solving. This individual must be self-motivated, able to handle multiple project assignments and is willing to learn and adapt within a fast-paced organization.
Principle Accountabilities:
Develop and drive consistent project management methodology and status reporting.
Project execution KPI’s including schedule, budget, and deliverables.
Support improvements in safety, production quality, production capacity, and cost reduction initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities:
Plan the project
○ Determine the objectives and key performance indicators
○ Determine the resources (time, money, equipment, etc.)
○ Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences activities
○ Identify, track and mitigate project risks
○ Review the project schedule with stakeholders
- Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase staff the project
- Work with stakeholders to identify appropriate resources necessary to complete the project]
- Manage project team according to established policies and practices
- Implement the project
- Execute according to the project plan
- Efficiently develop processes to document project activity
- Monitor the progress of the project and adjust as necessary
- Establish a communication schedule
- Review quality of work completed with the project team
- Foster an environment conducive to discussion and collaborative decision making
- Facilitate the project
- Schedule meetings as necessary to coordinate resources for requirements
- Report out to the project team and key stakeholders on a consistent basis
- Spot, resolve and / or escalate issues in a timely way\
- Ensure proper change controls are implemented and managed
- Work across IT and business functions to manage priorities of multiple competing projects
- Evaluate the project
- Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality Qualifications:
- BS/BA degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field
- 2 to 4 years’ experience working as a Project Manager
- Excellent project management skills (PMP certification preferred)
- Broad range of operations experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with ERP systems, data bases, and spreadsheet analysis
- Ability to model and analyze process workflows
- Outstanding verbal & written communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrated critical thinking and creative problem solving
- Strong leadership skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software suite, including Project
- Dynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to translate complex methodologies to diverse audiences and stakeholders

- Ability to manage multiple complex projects and multi-task effectively
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
