About the Job

The Project Manager will lead on transition activities, this includes designing, planning, and executing and ensuring regulatory compliance, operational resilience, and alignment with the firm’s strategic objectives.
The role requires close collaboration with stakeholders across the incumbent supplier, Finance Investments, Treasury, Finance, Risk, Compliance, IT, and external banking and custodian partners. The Project Manager will be accountable for delivering a seamless transition with minimal disruption to business-as-usual activities.
 

What you’ll spend your time doing:

  • Project Leadership and Governance
    • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of the investment operations transfer project, managing scope, schedule, budget, and risks.
    • Establish appropriate governance and reporting structures to ensure transparency and control.
    • Act as the key liaison between both internal entities, ensuring clear communication and alignment of objectives.
    • Prepare project documentation including business cases, project plans, RAID logs, and status reports for senior management and governance committees.
  • Operating Model Design and Implementation
    • Work with the Head of Investments and Finance Operations to define and document the target investment operations operating model
    • Map and transition existing processes, systems, and controls to the new operating entity.
    • Ensure roles, responsibilities, and service levels are clearly defined and agreed.
    • Oversee testing, validation, and sign-off of all operational handovers.
  • Stakeholder and Change Management
    • Engage senior stakeholders across Investments, Operations, Finance, Risk, and Compliance to ensure effective communication of project status and risks.
    • Facilitate workshops and working groups to define requirements, address challenges, and monitor progress.
    • Manage change impact assessments and support training, and knowledge transfer for affected teams.
    • Ensure adherence to Lloyd’s and regulatory standards throughout the transition.
  • Risk, Compliance, and Assurance
    • Identify and manage risks related to operational continuity, data integrity, and regulatory obligations.
    • Coordinate with Compliance and Risk teams to ensure the new model satisfies all internal control, conduct, and reporting requirements.
    • Support internal and external audit activities as part of project assurance.

What you’ll need:

Essential:

  • Proven track record of managing complex operational transition projects within the financial services or insurance sector.
  • Strong understanding of designing and implementing operating model changes across Financial Services or insurance businesses.
  • Experience in cash management, banking oversight, and custodian relationship management.
  • Solid project management skills (Prince2 / PMP / Agile not essential) with demonstrated ability to deliver under pressure.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with attention to detail.

Desirable:

  • Experience working within a Lloyd’s syndicate or broader (re)insurance environment.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (e.g., PRA, FCA, Lloyd’s Minimum Standards).
  • Understanding of operational resilience principles and outsourcing/insourcing governance.
  • Exposure to investment systems and investment operations including trade lifecycle management, reconciliations, performance, and valuation processes.
  • Experience in cash management, banking oversight, and custodian relationship management.
