Project Manager II

Our EIT Project Management Office (PMO) is seeking an experienced Project Manager II to support the Core Payer Applications portfolio, a highly visible and complex area with significant enterprise impact.

 

In this role, you’ll lead large-scale initiatives end to end, partnering closely with both business and technology stakeholders to drive high‑quality delivery, proactively manage status and executive inquiries, and effectively mitigate risks and issues.

 

You’ll join a large team of professionals known for strong collaboration, continuous improvement, and investment in professional growth through structured learning and a PMO‑sponsored mentoring program. This role is primarily remote, with limited travel to BCBST headquarters in Chattanooga, TN as needed to support key delivery milestones.

 

Our ideal candidates will have:

• Prior experience supporting the PMO group within BCBST and/or
• Prior experience supporting the ETSM Core Payer portfolio within BCBST 

Note:

• This is a fully remote role; however, onsite interviews at our Chattanooga, TN headquarters will be required. Additionally, limited travel to Chattanooga in support of key delivery milestones may be required in the role.

Job Responsibilities

• Manages enterprise projects with little assistance.
• Updates and maintains current project information within the established project management tool. 
• Manages scope and the execution of change management processes.
• Ensures the procurement of hardware, software and human resources as needed for the project.
• Manages project costs, and works with project owners, stakeholders, and delivery team to manage project quality.
• Tracks and reports risks and issues.
  • Proactively evaluates project activities.
  • Builds contingency plans.
  • Executes corrective actions when necessary.
  • Implements risk response plans to manage risk.

 

Job Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required. Equivalent experience is defined as 4 years of professional work experience.

 

Experience

• 4 years experience in business or information technology project delivery. 

 

Skills/Certifications

• Experienced in Agile, Scaled Agile, and Waterfall methodologies. 
• Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams to achieve project goals.
• Must be a team player, be organized, and handle multiple projects.
• Has a successful track record completing projects on time and on budget.
• Must be comfortable with professionally challenging key stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
