Work Style: Hybrid (home working + site visits + client meetings)

Location: Ideally Central Belt/ M40 / M25 Corridor

Johnson Controls is a global leader in HVAC, industrial refrigeration and building efficiency solutions. Our UK&I team delivers engineered cooling and HVAC solutions across commercial, industrial and data centre environments.

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to deliver HVAC and Refrigeration projects, including industrial refrigeration, chillers, retrofit work and supply‑only packages. With a growing pipeline of data centre projects in the South of the UK, this role offers a diverse and technically challenging portfolio.

What You Will Do

Lead the full execution of HVAC & Refrigeration projects from sales handover to completion, coordinating engineering teams and subcontractors to ensure safe, on‑time and on‑budget delivery.

Key responsibilities include:


Project & Financial Management

  • Plan, schedule and control project delivery, procurement and financial performance
  • Manage YORK and other HVAC/R equipment installations to required quality and timelines

Technical & Engineering Coordination

  • Review P&IDs, schematics and technical documents
  • Provide technical guidance on chillers, refrigeration systems, AHUs and retrofit solutions
  • Oversee installation, commissioning and project close‑out

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Act as Principal Contractor, ensuring adherence to CDM regulations
  • Lead safety culture, RAMS preparation and all H&S reporting

Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong relationships with customers, consultants and subcontractors
  • Attend meetings, provide progress updates and manage on‑site performance

What We Look For

  • Project Management experience within HVAC, chillers or industrial refrigeration
  • Strong technical knowledge of refrigeration, cold water chillers, HVAC plant and retrofits
  • Experience with budgets, procurement and logistics
  • Understanding of CDM and on‑site Health & Safety
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs and engineering drawings
  • Willingness to travel to London & Southern UK sites

Preferred:

  • IOSH or NEBOSH
  • APM/IPM membership or working towards
  • Knowledge of PSSR and BS EN378
  • SMSTS / CSCS
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office / MS Project
