Project Manager – Shape complex projects in a global engineering environment

At our office in Søborg, you will join the Execution Group in Project Management & Commissioning within Business Line Dairy Powder, where you will be part of a team of around 10 colleagues. Together, you work on engineering and project execution across equipment mid-life updates, brownfield upgrades and greenfield projects.
You will join an ambitious and professionally strong team of experienced Project Managers and Project Engineers with diverse technical backgrounds, where knowledge sharing is part of everyday work. Our collaboration is open and supportive, and you will be introduced through a structured onboarding process with mentoring from senior colleagues, so you can grow into your role step by step while contributing to high-quality execution.
Your responsibilities and tasks
As our new project manager, you will be responsible for defined sub-projects within larger projects as well as individual complete projects. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across GEA, including Project Managers, Supply Chain, Engineering, Process Control, After Sales, and Quality Control, as well as colleagues in GEA offices abroad. Externally, you will work with suppliers and customers.
Your overall responsibility is to ensure that projects are executed and delivered according to time schedules, within budget, and in alignment with agreed deliverables. This includes maintaining ongoing dialogue with both internal and external stakeholders and ensuring that all project participants deliver as promised.
Specifically, you will:
Have a technical understanding of process plants and take ownership of P&I Diagrams, layout reviews, functional specifications, fabrication drawings and technical calculations.
Make both technical and commercial decisions throughout the project lifecycle.
Participate in and drive phase gate meetings from project handover to delivery and commissioning on site.
Report to management on project progress, including scheduling, budget, and financial updates, resource planning, and risk provisions.
We expect travel activity of up to 50 overnight stays per year, primarily to participate in inspections and commissioning.

We are looking for a colleague with a proactive and self-driven mindset, taking ownership of their deliverables and working in a structured and systematic way. You are comfortable working both independently and in cross-functional teams, and you thrive in an international environment with customer interaction.
Finally, we imagine that you:
Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Marine, Construction, or a similar technical discipline).
Have 3-5 years of project management experience.
Are able to work in a methodical way to ensure quality, efficiency and adherence to timelines.
Are proactive and comfortable taking responsibility for assigned tasks and deliverables
Are fluent in English (corporate language); Danish and/or additional languages are an advantage.
