Project Manager – Uncrewed Surface Vessels (USV)

Fugro are seeking a talented Project Manager to join our USV Resource Centre based in Aberdeen, UK.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of packages of work that are executed with an uncrewed surface vessel (USV) within wider Inspection or Geophysical projects.  You will provide effective and efficient resource management ensuring all QHSE, technical, commercial, and contractual requirements are met.

Fugro’s USVs are equipped with all-electric ROV’s for subsea inspection scopes and geophysical sensors for site characterisation scopes.

Based in Aberdeen, with travel to client and project sites this is a leadership opportunity at the forefront of marine robotics and remote operations.

Your role and responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage (cost, schedule, contract) packages of work across Fugro’s expanding fleet of USVs in Europe.
  • Communicate with overarching project management and client teams regarding ongoing project progress.
  • Brief operational and technical support teams on project plans and execution strategies.
  • Manage commercial budgets and forecast package revenues and costs.
  • Author package documentation including project executions plans.
  • Manage contractual commitments to ensure project compliance.
  • Conduct quality control and audits on project execution phases (Mob, Operations, Data Delivery).
  • Support writing and quality control of project reports.
  • Resource management of individual USV assets providing cost control for annual operational and capital expenditure.
  • Manage the introduction of new USV assets into the region for commercial onboarding.
  • Operate across diverse markets including offshore wind, oil and gas, and subsea cables.
  • Based in Aberdeen, with travel to vessel sites for project kick-offs and client offices for project meetings. 

What you’ll need to thrive in this role:

  • MSc or BSc level in an industry associated discipline such as Geoscience, Engineering or Project Management.
  • Strong understanding of subsea operations, survey methodologies, and remote project delivery.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.
