Purpose of this role
- Manage strategic and transformation projects and technology implementation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify, document, analyse, challenge internal & external customer requirements (if required), to ensure the project meets business needs / strategic aims.
Undertake detailed project planning & documentation (defining project deliverables, success criteria, benefits management, dependencies, change control, risk management) including escalating risks and issues as required.
- Ensure Transformation objectives and deadlines are met in line with defined Project charter.
- Ensure compliant with project governance and standards as stipulated in the PMO Governance Framework.
Communicate the roles and responsibilities defined in the project organization structure
- Resolution of issues and mitigation of risks without compromising the timeline.
Track benefit outcomes and update the Steering Committee.
Main Responsibility
Project Planning
- Understand the overall initiatives to manage scope and dependencies for the project and workstreams.
- Provide clear definition of project in terms of scope, work schedule, stakeholders, risks, resources, communication plan, and benefit measures.
- Develop project plan based on business case (if any) or agreed scope for approval by Project Sponsor / Project Steering Committee (PSC).
Project Execution
- Develop work breakdown structure (WBS) for resource allocation and identify dependencies.
- Define and communicate roles and responsibilities of project team (including vendor) to ensure alignment in terms of expectation and accountabilities.
- Create and maintain work schedules, define milestones and critical path for timely completion.
- Establish and maintain regular meetings/cadence for progress reviews, SDLC tollgate reviews, and prioritization/escalation discussions.
- Understands the scope and requirements of the project and ensures the implementation is compliant to customer processes and BNM regulations.
- Understands technical issues and escalate issues as needed and drive them to resolution.
- Effectively use metrics to track progress, identify issues, make decisions and improvements.
- Proactively anticipate project risks and issues to identify resources, corrective actions or leadership escalations needed to maintain project timelines.
- Manage change using appropriate verification techniques to assess impact, evaluate options, estimate cost, and present justification for approval by Project Sponsor / PSC.
- Identify and escalate project interdependencies and propose mitigation for associated risks.
- Perform project closure with proper handover and acceptance by the stakeholders and submit files for PMO project repository.
Post Implementation
- Formalized support model for project closure.
- Perform post implementation review and share lessons learned.
Change and Risk Management
- Chair project status meeting to drive outcomes or lead problem solving meetings to reach conclusions and agreement on resolutions.
- Perform risk management to mitigate all identified risks.
- Oversee project communication and clarify communication gap by delivering message / guidance / directions timely, driving decisions, and updating stakeholders.
- Manage expectation of Project Sponsor throughout the project lifecycle, which includes to obtain buy-in from Key Stakeholders / Senior Management.
PMO / Project Governance
- Adopt project governance standards and ensure desired outcomes and its original intent is met.
- Formalize project organization structure, roles and responsibilities, person-in-charge, and key deliverables.
Qualification and Experience Requirement
- Bachelor's Degree / Professional Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
- Professional certification in project management is preferred, but certified PMP and/or certified Scrum Master is added advantage
