The Design Studio within Blackstone’s Marketing team is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the planning and execution of high priority creative initiatives. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence across the Design team by managing workflows, timelines, resourcing, and approvals, while ensuring consistent, high quality delivery of on‑brief and on‑time marketing work.

The Project Manager will serve as a key connector between designers, creative leadership, marketing partners, and cross‑functional stakeholders — translating business needs into actionable plans, cascading critical information, and proactively identifying risks and dependencies. This role will also play an important part in refining and evolving the studio’s ways of working to support scale, efficiency, and consistency across the Marketing organization.

Responsibilities

  • Review and triage inbound design requests from marketing and business partners; ask strategic clarifying questions, gather requirements and specs, and translate inputs into clear, actionable creative briefs.
  • Communicate project briefs, scopes, and timelines to Design Studio, marketing partners and business stakeholders; ensure designers understand objectives, deliverables, priorities, timelines, and constraints.
  • Resource the Design Studio against incoming requests by managing designers’ bandwidth based on estimated project hours, priorities, capacity, and skillsets.
  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, from intake and scoping to final delivery.
  • Conduct first pass creative reviews, providing functional feedback to ensure alignment with briefs, brand standards, and project goals.
  • Manage approval workflows related to Design Studio projects; maintain visibility into all incoming and outgoing creative work.
  • Oversee creative review scheduling, preparation of review materials, feedback tracking, and communication of next steps across stakeholders.
  • Represent the Design Studio in cross-functional meetings and working groups; provide status updates and proactively identify design needs, dependencies, and risks.
  • Proactively flag key milestones, risks, and potential roadblocks to senior stakeholders, including Design Studio leadership.
  • Educate stakeholders and marketing partners on the creative process, and best practices to drive alignment and operational efficiency.
  • Identify, evaluate and apply AI solutions to optimize workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance studio operations.
  • Support the transition to Smartsheet as Marketing’s primary project management tool.
  • Integrate Marketing processes, standards, and learnings into the Design Studio’s ways of working to ensure consistency and alignment across the organization.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in project management within a design studio, creative agency or similar environment.
  • Strong understanding of design workflows, creative processes, and production timelines.
  • Experience managing several complex projects with multiple stakeholders and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Effective communicator by collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders including senior Marketing, Corporate Affairs, Legal and firm leadership.
  • Experience using AI-powered tools or automation to improve efficiency and workflow management.
  • Experience working in collaboration tools (e.g., Box, Microsoft Teams) and project management tools (i.e., Smartsheet).
  • Strong attention to detail and thoroughly reviewing work is a must.
  • Self-starter, organized, motivated and contributes positively to a collegial atmosphere of the team.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.

Preferred

  • Background in design, creative operations, or digital production
  • Foundational awareness of the alternative investment landscape, sufficient to understand business model, marketing strategies, and audience needs.
