What you will do

You will lead a high‑visibility, strategically critical manufacturing growth initiative that directly impacts capacity, scalability, operational excellence, and long‑term competitiveness. This role requires an operations‑savvy, cross‑functional leader capable of driving end‑to‑end execution across manufacturing operations, engineering, supply chain, Lean/CI, HR, and Talent Acquisition.

You will be accountable for project planning, execution, risk mitigation, change control, stakeholder alignment, and value realization, working closely with senior leadership while navigating complex environments and tight timelines.

How you will do it

  • Translate enterprise‑level manufacturing growth objectives into actionable project strategies, milestones, and performance metrics.

  • Ensure alignment with corporate manufacturing strategy, capacity forecasts, operational readiness plans, and long‑term workforce requirements.

  • Act as the single point of accountability for the end‑to‑end delivery of the manufacturing growth initiative.

  • Embed Lean thinking throughout all project phases by utilizing Johnson Controls Business Systems practices

  • Schedule and run kickoff/recurring meetings, develop meeting agendas, and manage stakeholder communication by following up on status to ensure deliverables and milestones are met.

  • Provide weekly project status reports to the Senior Leadership team

  • Administer the complete life cycle of assigned projects and tasks from inception to closeout to ensure results are achieved.

  • Organize, track, and communicate information critical to the operations and manufacturing departments to help ensure goals are met and important items are monitored and addressed in a timely manner.

  • Be efficient and effective in multi-tasking, and working within a team, both on day-to-day and project-oriented tasks.

  • Manage tasks effectively and complete projects as expected.

  • Use analytical abilities, team building, and motivation skills to help organize resources, meet tight deadlines, manage simultaneously occurring tasks and shifting priorities, and control project change.

  • Work both independently and as part of a departmental team in executing a variety of projects.

  • Lead, coach, mentor, and be accountable for the team to reach business goals.

Lean / Continuous Improvement

Engineering

  • Lead engineering teams through equipment selection and readiness.

  • Oversee engineering changes and validations.

Supply Chain

  • Partner on procurement, logistics, and material flow.

  • Ensure inventory and replenishment strategies support capacity.

Human Resources

  • Collaborate on org design, job profiles, and workforce scaling.

  • Integrate change‑management and communication plans.

Talent Acquisition

  • Define workforce requirements and hiring timelines.

  • Provide demand forecasts and success profiles.

Manufacturing Operations

  • Ensure operational readiness and SOP development.

  • Validate ramp‑up plans and support requirements.

Project Planning, Governance, and Execution

  • Develop project charters, schedules, cost models, and risk registers.

  • Establish governance mechanisms.

  • Manage scope control and capital adjustments.

Risk, Issue, and Change Management

  • Build proactive mitigation strategies.

  • Facilitate root‑cause analysis.

  • Maintain disciplined change‑control processes.

Budget & Capital Project Oversight

  • Manage multi‑million‑dollar capital budgets.

  • Track spend, variances, and ROI.

  • Partner with Finance for forecasting.

Operational Readiness & RampUp

  • Oversee commissioning, validation, and startup.

  • Ensure readiness across SOPs, training, maintenance, and quality.

  • Drive structured ramp‑up plans.

What we look for

Required

  • 7–10+ years in manufacturing, operations, engineering, or capital project management.

  • Demonstrated success leading high‑impact manufacturing initiatives.

  • Strong leadership and cross‑functional influence.

  • Expertise in manufacturing systems and operational excellence.

  • Excellent communication and executive‑ready reporting.

  • Strong financial acumen.

Preferred

  • PMP or Lean Six Sigma certification.

  • Experience in multi‑site manufacturing.

  • Background in automation or workforce expansion.
